Our Top 5 Fieldsports Podcasts

We are now at the end of the shooting season and thoughts will turn towards getting next season going already. Gamekeepers all over the UK will be hard at work with spring predator control programs, infrastructure repair, conservation and habitat work and a raft of the other daily jobs that keep you busy. Having a great podcast to listen to whilst in the vehicle on your mobile device is a great way to spend some time alone. Here are some interesting podcasts from the English speaking world that you might enjoy:-

The Broken Gun
This is a new podcast with only a couple of episodes recorded so far (as of 4th February). This podcast is hosted by Eddie aka the Somerset Hunter, Jonny Carter from TGS Outdoors fame and Lloyd Paterson from the Lloyd Paterson YouTube channel. This is a really nice fun podcast where the hosts have occasional guests and talk about all disciplines of shooting from clay busting to deer stalking. Podcasts like this are a great alternative to going to the pub with your mates in some ways and is top of our listen list at the moment. A word of warning this is defiantly an over 18’s after 9pm one with some swear words and proper potty mouth talk.

The Broken Gun

The Hunting Collective
The Hunting Collective is an American based podcast with host Ben O’Brien. It covers the ideologies and philosophies of the modern American hunter while touching on key ideas like conservation, hunters value systems and how to construct a better public image. A recurring cast of top hunting voices help drive the conversation and keep things pretty damn interesting. This is much more thought provoking than fun but the similarities of what those across the pond are going through in terms of anti shooters etc really hit home.
